July 17, 2008: Fan Speed and CPU Temperature Monitoring

A new driver has been added to the EPICS IOC for monitoring fan speeds and IOC CPU temperature. Two fans are polled: the main chassis fan and the smaller IOC CPU fan. The new feature is especially useful for diagnosing fan failures and dirty air intake filters.
